NSW Planning Portal

The NSW Planning Portal was introduced on 1 July 2020 with the intention that from 1 July 2021, all Construction Certificate, Complying Development Certificate and Occupation Certificate applications must be lodged to a Registered Certifier via the Portal. Principal Certifier Appointments must also be completed via the Portal.

How do I select Local Certification as my Certifier?

When lodging your application select “Local Certification Services Pty Ltd“. The ABN is 691 17463840. Please note the office address for Local has been listed as our Narellan Office, this is correct. Your application will still be allocated to the relevant Local office upon receipt.

Do I need to complete the Principal Certifier Appointment?

Yes, you will need to complete the Principal Certifier Appointment in addition to the Construction Certificate or Complying Development Certificate Application. It is easiest to do this at the time you lodge your CC/CDC Application. You can also make the Occupation Certificate Application at this time.

What are the fees to use the NSW Planning Portal?

There are lodgement fees applicable to certain Planning Portal Applications. These fees are a NSW Government fee and separate to our usual certification fees. More information in relation to this fees can be found at:

How long will it take to process my application?

There will be no change in our determination times. We will continue to provide the same level of high quality service with no relay in our processing times.

Do I still need to complete the Local Application Form?

Yes, our Application Form constitutes part of the Certification Contract required by the Building and Development Certifiers Act 2018.

Who can help with technical difficulties using the Planning Portal?
