Notice of Commencement of Works

Before works can begin you must notify both the Principal Certifier and the Council that you are planning to start. This notice must be provided at least 2 days before works begin.

Since the 1 July 2021, it has been a legislative requirement that the notice of commencement is completed via the NSW Planning Portal.

Once you have completed the Notice of Appointment of the Principal Certifier and it has been accepted by us, you are able to complete the notice to commence work.

Log-in to your Planning Portal Account and the PC Appointment should be in your “Active Work” dashboard.

Click on the reference number to enter into that particular application record. On the Actions drop-down menu click on “Intention to commence work”

Enter the relevant details as required and click submit. The Portal will automatically notify both the Principal Certifier and the Council that works will be commencing.
